Steffen Sammet, M.D., Ph.D. is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology and in the School of Allied Medical Professions at The Ohio State University. He holds a board certificate of Medical Physics and medical license from Germany. Dr. Sammet has experience working in medical technology companies and has a graduate degree in Business Administration with a focus on Total Quality Management. Dr. Sammet's research interests include high and ultra-high field Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS). He is developing new methodologies in MRI/MRS such as new sequences and protocols for in-vivo applications. One of his primary research areas is the application of ultra-high field MRI and MRS in patients with brain injuries and brain disorders to detect anatomical and molecular changes. Dr. Sammet is also currently working on various Computed Tomography (CT) research projects including individualized contrast agent injection protocols. In ultrasound (US) his research focus is on musculoskeletal injury related to ergonomic risk and the use of image segmentation to determine the morphology of lymph nodes. Dr. Sammet has OSU-P status with the Graduate School and is advising MS or PhD students at The Ohio State University.
